When Rover stopped making bicycles, they began a tradition of building cars that were near the top end of the market, but they cleverly aimed at something just about affordable. Their medium sized luxury cars have sometimes been called the poor mans Rolls Royce.

By 1960 the Rover 100 had adopted some modern features but it’s charm lays in the leather seats, wooden door surrounds and a thoroughly traditional feel. A powerful six-cylinder engine lurks under an aluminium bonnet. Rear seat passengers emerge from the rear hinged doors which help to guarantee an elegant exit and the best photo opportunities.

Rovers have been the choice of the Royal family and Government Ministers and hold their own with the other fine British cars of the same era. This Rover 100 was built in 1959 and first registered on 1 January 1960 and it was loved by its first owner for fifty years. The new owner continues to cosset the car and delights in enjoying it with wedding passengers today.
